The Hanse 590 sits at the top of the current range. Berret-Racoupeau drew the hull, and it is a genuinely fast shape: hard chines carried well forward, a long sailing waterline and a tall rig above it. The result is a yacht that stays balanced and easy on the helm as the breeze builds, which is exactly what you want on the run north or a long leg offshore.

She is also a big volume boat without looking like one. The cockpit is generous, with a Targa arch carrying the mainsheet clear of the seating, twin tables and a proper lounging area aft. The hull is vacuum infused over a PVC foam core, so she is stiff and light for her length, and that shows in how she carries her sail plan. German build quality, French styling, and none of it at the expense of how she sails.

Despite the size, two people can handle her. The self-tacking jib system does away with headsail winch work altogether, halyards and control lines run covered aft to the helms, and the hydraulic bathing platform, electric windlass with wireless remote and chain counter all come as standard. There is a dinghy garage in the transom for a tender up to 3.1M, so it stows away properly instead of living on the foredeck.
