This Oceanis 38 is a late model, modern design, constructed by the largest manufacturer globally. Refreshingly, 'Alkira' has been set up to cover all bases - her sail wardrobe will satisfy club racing appetites for those wanting a great turn of speed while her cruising updates and make an adventure north very tempting.

'Alkira' is the "weekender" option; a modern layout accommodating five berths with large open master cabin forward, an impressively large enclosed double aft cabin, a very functional inline galley, nav station to port, plus the head (with electric toilet) and shower rooms are completely separated (very smart!). There is also a very handy internal hanging locker and storage space plus a massive aft storage 'garage' is accessed from the cockpit.

Sail handling is modern, easy and exciting with the primary winches reached from the twin helms. Sails include the fully battened Norths main plus spare, Ian Short self-tacking headsail plus spare, an overlapping genoa, a gennaker or asymmetric spinnaker, plus a storm trysail.

Twin rudders compliment the yachts wide beam beautifully and grip nicely when sailing upwind. The drop down swim / boarding platform makes the already large cockpit even more impressive for this 38 foot yacht. There is a chart plotter (new 2018) at the port helm plus auto-pilot and a new AIS system (2020). The halyard / main sheet winch is electric.

The dodger and bimini with infill were fitted by Ocean Covers, Newport, in March 2021 giving the expansive cockpit great protection.
