Anchorline is proud to present the 40' Halvorsen Viking 'Colorado' to the market in collaboration with Alexander Marine.

Among many classic boat lovers, there is a view that some boats are launched lucky, as they seem to be found by owners who love, protect and lavish care on them. 'Colorado' is such a boat. Designed by Lars Halvorsen and built by Halvorsen Boat Builders (Sydney, New South Wales) in 1969,'Colorado' is the perfect example of a classic Halvorsen cruiser.

In 2013, Colorado's previous owners engaged Norman Wright & Sons (Brisbane, QLD) to bring her into the 21st century and make her better than new. In May 2022, our office sold 'Colorado' to her current owners who have continued to upgrade and love her. In the later months of 2022, Russell Marine (Gold Coast) was engaged to complete another major refit to further enhance her (a complete list of works for the 2013-2016 and 2022-2023 refits can be provided).

Under the saloon floor lie two low hour Yanmar 4LHA-HTP 160hp diesel engines that ensure a smooth and efficient ride at a comfortable cruise speed of 9 knots. If required, 'Colorado' can achieve a maximum speed of 14-15 knots. Additionally, she boasts a fuel capacity of 600 litres (approx. ) and a freshwater capacity of 500 litres (approx. ).

When it comes to navigation and communication, 'Colorado is equipped with modern essentials. In 2023 both helm stations were refitted, the morse controls were replaced and a suite of new Garmin electronics were installed. A Garmin VHF radio keeps you connected, while a Garmin GPS, plotter, depth sounder and autopilot allow you to navigate effortlessly from either the flybridge or saloon helm station. To assist with maneuvering in confined spaces, proportional Side-Power bow and stern thrusters were installed in 2023.

Located on the starboard side, the galley offers a convenient setup within the forward companionway. During her refit at Russell Marine, the galley was refitted, a custom stone benchtop was installed, the refrigeration was replaced and a filtered water system was added. The galley is also equipped with a Force 10 oven and a Force 10 two burner gas stove.

The bow features two single bunks that effortlessly convert into a V-berth, providing cozy sleeping quarters. Opposite the galley, on the port side of the companionway, you'll find the head, which too has benefited from a major overhaul while in the capable hands of Russell Marine. At this time, a new stone vanity top was made, a 12V Tecma toilet with a custom teak seat was fitted and a frameless glass shower screen was installed. In addition, the original flooring in the head was replaced.

Constantly admired, 'Colorado' is a true classic that is small enough to be handled easily yet large enough to stay aboard for a week on the bay. Now looking for a new home, 'Colorado' is available for inspection by prior appointment at the Gold Coast. If you desire a piece of maritime history that has been beautifully restored, this Halvorsen is your dream come true. Please contact our office for further information.
