'Lena' has had a full make over with no expense spared. This included her being fully sheathed with Fibreglass on the out side hull and deck, re rigged, new fittings and new sails and covers. Built in 1926 from Kauri on spotted gum, Mahogany coach house by Peter De Russett in Jackson st Balgowah. She started her journey in NSW with many great results racing finishing 2nd in 1929 and 1st in the following year in the 'Off the heads to Lake Macquarie' Yacht race. From this point she has had a few owners including the second owner Hal Harper 1930 - 1971 Hal was the founder of the Wooden Boat Association. Un Known owner 1971 -1995 sold and purchased by Greg and Rod Stewart where she was moored at Badmans Bay Gladesville and in 1998 she was moved to a mooring in Drummoyne. The next owner was John Lord 2007 - 2009 Moored Balmain Marina in Sydney. 'Lena' has been owned by her current owners Noeline and David, Sarah, Nick and Hudson since 2012 where she has been a much loved yacht and has been beautifully and lovingly restored. She is a beautiful boat with beautiful lines she is relatively low maintenance and sails extremely well. 'Lena' has raced in the classic boat series in Goolwa, Milang Goolwa and Goolwa Milang following a long history of racing on the East Coast. 'Lena' comes with a great history she is a great boat and all the hard work has been done.
